Chairman Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, attended the 59th Convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in Hyderabad as the Chief Guest and congratulated the newly qualified medical specialists on their outstanding achievements.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti said that it was an honour and privilege to attend the convocation and celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of Pakistan’s emerging medical specialists. He described CPSP as a premier institution of postgraduate medical education in Pakistan, playing a vital role in maintaining high standards of professional excellence, transparent evaluation and academic rigor.
The Senator said that witnessing more than 150 Fellows and Members receive their hard-earned qualifications was a source of great pride and reaffirmed his confidence in the bright future of Pakistan’s healthcare sector. He commended the leadership of CPSP, particularly President Prof. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, Senior Vice President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal and members of the Council, for their efforts in strengthening postgraduate medical education and enhancing the international recognition of Pakistani medical qualifications in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Middle East and other regions.
As Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti reaffirmed the Committee’s unwavering support for CPSP and its mission. He said the Senate Standing Committee recognizes the evolving challenges confronting medical education and healthcare infrastructure and would extend every possible support in resolving issues, facilitating policy interventions and creating an enabling environment for the institution to further its objectives.
He appreciated CPSP’s continued contribution towards improving healthcare delivery in Pakistan, particularly its role in taking specialist medical services closer to the common people and strengthening the country’s healthcare system through the training of highly qualified specialists.
Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti extended his heartfelt felicitations to all graduating Fellows and Members, their parents, families and faculty members whose dedication and sacrifices contributed to their success.
