Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar met with Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti in Quetta. The meeting discussed the overall political and economic situation in the country, with particular focus on security, law and order, economic development, public relief, development projects and the welfare of the people of Balochistan.

The two sides also discussed measures being taken by the provincial government to promote development and prosperity in Balochistan, improve the security situation, provide relief to the people and accelerate development initiatives across the province.

Acting Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar said that Balochistan is an important province of Pakistan and its development, prosperity and socio-economic uplift are among the key priorities of the government. He said the people of Balochistan are talented, hardworking and professionally capable, while the province is endowed with abundant natural resources and mineral wealth.

He stressed the need for effective, transparent and sustainable utilisation of Balochistan’s natural resources to create greater economic opportunities and improve the living standards of its people. He said local communities must be made active partners in the development process so that the benefits of the province’s resources reach its people.

Syedaal Khan Nasar said the government, in coordination with the military leadership, is taking measures to improve the security situation in Balochistan. He said peace and stability are fundamental to development and prosperity, expressing confidence that the province would witness greater peace, development and economic opportunities, with terrorism being eliminated.

The Acting Chairman Senate said Balochistan has immense potential to play a significant role in Pakistan’s economic development. He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Gwadar have the potential to emerge as major economic hubs, benefiting not only Balochistan but the entire country.

He emphasised that political affiliations must be set aside in the larger national and provincial interest, and all stakeholders should work collectively to accelerate development and ensure the prosperity of the people of Balochistan.

Syedaal Khan Nasar said that bringing Balochistan at par with other developed regions of the country requires concerted efforts by the federal and provincial governments, political leadership and relevant institutions. He stressed that resolving public issues, improving basic services and accelerating development projects should remain a shared priority.
 

The Acting Chairman Senate reiterated his commitment to supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace, development, economic stability and public welfare in Balochistan. He said the development of Balochistan is integral to the development of Pakistan, and a peaceful, prosperous and developed Balochistan can play a vital role in shaping the country’s brighter future.
