Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Emphasizes Promotion of Skills, Education, and Tourism Among YouthAddresses Annual Convocation of a Private Educational Institution in Multan

Multan: Chairman Senate, Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, while addressing the annual convocation of College of Tourism and Hotel Management South Punjab  Multan, expressed great pleasure in being part of the success of skilled youth in South Punjab. He stated that today’s era is not only about earning degrees but also about acquiring skills and practical capabilities alongside academic qualifications.

The Chairman Senate said that in the current national and international environment, success belongs to those equipped with modern skills and practical competence. Congratulating the graduating students, he remarked that their achievement is the result of hard work, determination, and perseverance.

He paid tribute to teachers and parents, acknowledging their vital role in nurturing, guiding, and contributing to the success of young people, emphasizing that students reached this milestone through their support and dedication.

Addressing the students, Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that they are embarking on a new and bright journey in life and expressed hope that through their abilities they would bring pride not only to their families but also to their region and Pakistan on the global stage.

He said Pakistan is blessed with natural beauty, historical heritage, and a unique cultural identity. The country possesses numerous tourist destinations that have yet to be fully introduced internationally. Encouraging youth to explore the northern areas, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and especially the historical significance of Multan, he noted that Multan is a 5,000-year-old living city whose identity is linked with some of the world’s oldest civilizations and whose culture and traditions are truly distinctive.

The Chairman Senate observed that many countries with limited natural resources have built strong economies through tourism. He recalled his own experience serving as Federal Minister for Tourism and highlighted his understanding of the sector’s economic importance.

He stressed that skilled individuals are essential for rapid development and economic stability. Referring to a recent meeting with the Ambassador of Italy, he shared that thousands of job opportunities are available, but only those possessing the required skills can benefit from them.

Chairman Senate stated that global demand for skilled manpower continues to rise and that this presents a golden opportunity for Pakistan, as nearly sixty percent of the country’s population consists of youth, which is Pakistan’s greatest strength.

He emphasized that empowering youth requires coordinated efforts between state institutions and welfare programs. He said he would propose that the Benazir Income Support Programme, Bait-ul-Mal, and relevant ministries strengthen collaboration with educational institutions to promote youth skills development and enable more individuals to become skilled professionals.

He further stated that vast opportunities exist in the field of Information Technology across regions including the European Union, Germany, and the United States, and Pakistani youth can fully capitalize on these opportunities through their talent and capabilities.

Chairman Senate congratulated the institution’s administration, teachers, parents, and graduating students on the successful event and extended his best wishes for their bright future.

He also appreciated Pakistan’s recent regional and global diplomatic role, stating that the efforts of Pakistan’s civil and military leadership in safeguarding national interests and promoting regional peace are commendable and have further enhanced the country’s international standing.
 

He welcomed the government’s recent reduction in petroleum prices and expressed hope that economic conditions would continue to improve in the coming days.
