On the occasion of the International Day of Parliamentarism, Deputy Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syedaal Khan Nasar, reaffirmed Pakistan's steadfast commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, upholding constitutional supremacy, and promoting inclusive and representative governance.
In his message, the Deputy Chairman Senate stated that Parliament is the cornerstone of every democratic state, where the aspirations and voices of the people are translated into constitutional and legislative action. He noted that Parliament serves as the principal forum for shaping national policies, safeguarding the public interest, and determining the country's future through democratic consensus.
He observed that the International Day of Parliamentarism, commemorated annually on 30 June, serves as a reminder that strong, sovereign, and effective parliamentary institutions are essential for democratic stability, the rule of law, transparent governance, and public confidence.
