Lasting change possible through collective endeavours: Misbah Khar, Advisor to Chairman Senate/ Ambassador ISC addresses IFWA charity event as Chief Guest

Advisor to Chairman Senate and Ambassador to ISC, Misbah Khar, was the chief guest at the  annual “Taste the World Charity Event 2026” organized by the Islamabad Foreign Women’s Association in collaboration with diplomatic missions, partner organizations, and the Islamabad Serena Hotel.

She said “Food is the language of diplomacy that needs no translation.”

Addressing the distinguished gathering comprising members of the diplomatic corps, civil society representatives, and participants from various embassies and high commissions, Ms. Khar expressed her appreciation to IFWA, its leadership, and all stakeholders for organizing what she termed a “remarkable and noble initiative.”

“It is both a pleasure and an honour to join this meaningful event that beautifully brings together cultures, cuisines, and communities for a greater humanitarian purpose,” she remarked. She commended IFWA’s President, members, the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association, Serena Hotel management, and participating diplomatic missions for their continued commitment to charitable causes.

Highlighting the significance of the event, she noted that such initiatives go beyond cultural exchange and serve as a powerful platform for collective goodwill. “This event reminds us that charity is not merely an act of generosity, but a profound expression of solidarity with those who need our support the most—particularly underprivileged women, children, and vulnerable segments of society,” she added.

Ms. Khar acknowledged the longstanding contributions of IFWA since its establishment in 1995, recognizing its role in raising awareness, mobilizing resources for social causes, and fostering stronger ties between Pakistan and the international community. She emphasized that IFWA has consistently served as a bridge connecting diverse communities through compassion and shared purpose.

Underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to social welfare and inclusive development, she highlighted key national initiatives, including the Benazir Income Support Programme, which has provided critical financial assistance to millions of deserving families across the country. She noted that such government-led efforts are further strengthened by complementary initiatives like “Taste the World,” which encourage partnerships and community engagement.

“Events such as these demonstrate that when governments, civil society, diplomatic communities, and citizens come together, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible,” she stated.
Commending the dedication of IFWA and its partners, Ms. Khar expressed her best wishes for the continued success of the event and its future editions. “May this initiative continue to bring hope, opportunity, and dignity to those who need it most,” she said.

“Taste the World Charity Event” is one of IFWA’s flagship annual initiatives, aimed at celebrating global diversity while raising funds for charitable projects across Pakistan, particularly those supporting women’s empowerment, education, and social welfare.
