Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed optimism that negotiations between the United States of America and Iran will succeed, which will further enhance Pakistan’s standing on the global stage.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media on Saturday during a condolence visit to Khosa House to express his sympathies over the passing of Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa.
Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that the purpose of his visit to Dera Ghazi Khan was to personally offer condolences to the family of the late Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa. He noted that the late Sardar was a valuable figure for the country and that his sons have also played an important role in national politics. Recalling his long association with Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, he prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
Referring to the situation between the United States of America and Iran, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with an important position and that Pakistan is playing a key role in promoting peace in the region. He said that Pakistan is making sincere efforts to facilitate peace between the world’s superpower and Iran, expressing confidence that the ongoing dialogue will yield positive results.
He further stated that in recent days, the Pakistan Armed Forces, particularly the Pakistan Air Force, gave a strong response to India. He expressed confidence that Pakistan will successfully overcome future challenges as well.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Khosa House, the Chairman Senate was received by Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, Sardar Hussamuddin Khosa, and Sardar Saifuddin Khosa. The Chairman Senate remained their for some time and sympathised with family of Late Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa.
