Senate Chairman Gilani Meets Qatari Ambassador on Qatar National Day, Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Pakistan-Qatar Ties

Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its relationship with Qatar through enhanced parliamentary engagement, economic cooperation, trade, and shared goals for regional peace and prosperity.

During a meeting with the Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater، on the occasion of Qatar National Day, Chairman Gilani appreciated the progress and stability achieved by Qatar. He extended warm congratulations on behalf of the people of Pakistan to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar.

Chairman Gilani emphasized that the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Qatar goes beyond formal diplomacy, rooted in shared Islamic values, cultural affinity, and a commitment to the development and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.

He also welcomed Qatar’s participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Speaker Conference held in Islamabad in November 2025, highlighting it as a testament to growing parliamentary collaboration between the two countries. Further, he described the expanding economic cooperation, increasing Pakistani exports, and partnerships in the energy sector as key pillars of the bilateral relationship.

Acknowledging the significant contributions of over 300,000 Pakistanis residing in Qatar, Chairman Gilani praised their role in strengthening ties between the two nations. He also commended the services of Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater، in promoting Pakistan-Qatar relations.

The meeting underscored Pakistan’s commitment to further enhancing mutual cooperation with Qatar across political, economic, and social domains, reinforcing a partnership built on trust, shared values, and long-term strategic interests.
