Event Title: Message from Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani on the Occasion of Youm-e-Tashakur

Today, the entire nation is observing Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) to offer thanks to Almighty Allah for Pakistan’s remarkable success and victory in response to India’s blatant aggression and provocation.
In his message, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani stated that on the night between May 6 and 7, India demonstrated cowardice by launching an attack on Pakistan, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent civilians.
Chairman Senate said the world witnessed how a significantly larger enemy was brought to its knees within a matter of hours. The aircrafts that were once a symbol of Indian pride have now turned to ashes.
“Our falcons delivered decisive blows to the enemy—this was our crushing response,” he reiterated.
Gillani praised the courage and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces, who wrote a golden chapter in military history by giving a befitting and effective response to the enemy in its own language and thwarting its nefarious designs. Enemy military bases, weapon stockpiles, and airfields were reduced to rubble.
He emphasized that this operation was a response against the ideology based on enmity toward humanity, aggression, religious fanaticism, and prejudice. “This is a victory of our honor and principles. It is not just a triumph of the Pakistan Armed Forces but also of a proud, dignified, and self-respecting Pakistani nation that stood like a solid wall beside its armed forces.”
“I pay tribute to all the martyrs of our armed forces who laid down their lives in this righteous battle.”
“On this occasion, I extend my deepest gratitude on behalf of myself and the nation to General Syed Asim Munir, whose wise and courageous leadership made this great victory possible. I also heartily commend Air Chief Zaheer Babar Sidhu and his team, who made us proud, and I salute Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, under whose leadership the Pakistan Navy vigilantly protected our maritime borders.”
“I express heartfelt appreciation to all allied and opposition parties, as well as the political leadership and Parliament for demonstrating unparalleled unity and historic solidarity.”
Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gillani concluded by saying that effective parliamentary diplomacy has played a pivotal role in projecting Pakistan’s positive and dignified image across the world. “Today, Pakistan stands before the world as a responsible state. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces and remain united in giving a strong response to the enemy on every front.”
