During his visit to Iraq, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, held a meeting with the acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, today in Baghdad.

Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi extended a warm welcome to Chairman Senate and his delegation, expressing appreciation for the strengthening of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iraq. The leaders engaged in fruitful talks on enhancing parliamentary exchanges, fostering closer ties, and addressing shared challenges.

Chairman Senate, while acknowledging the efforts of Iraqi leadership in fortifying democracy and combating terrorism, urged for an increased collaboration between the two nations in the economic and trade sectors. Emphasizing the importance of mutual cooperation, he highlighted the potential for growth and development through joint initiatives.

The current situation in Palestine was also a key topic of discussion during the meeting. Both parties condemned the atrocities committed by the Zionist Israeli regime, referring to them as barbaric acts of genocide. Both Chairman Senate of Pakistan and Acting Speaker Al-Mandalawi called for an immediate ceasefire and the lifting of the illegal blockade on Gaza.

Furthermore, the leaders underscored the significance of united action from Muslim countries to deter the hostile actions of the Zionist Israeli regime. They stressed the need for collective efforts to address the pressing issues in the region and promote peace and stability.
