Message of the Secretary Senate

Need for various publications especially a News Magazine for an elected and representative body can hardly be over emphasized. Being the upper House of the Parliament, the highest legislative body in the country and a symbol of the equality and integrity of the federating units, the Senate of Pakistan can help promote harmony by informing the public about its role, functions and performance in all areas of legislative governance and executive accountability, especially the efforts made for the uplift of less developed areas.
Under the guidance and leadership of Chairman Senate Hon. Farooq H. Naek, Patron-in-Chief of the News Magazine this initiative is being taken. It is hoped that Senate News will become a source of regular information about the activities and developments taking place in the Senate besides providing a forum for feedback and contribution by not only the staff but Members, Committee Chairpersons and other stakeholders.
This first issue is however the outcome of the efforts of the Secretariat staff only. In the coming issues more content and input is being invited from all. We are also working on publishing the next issue as a bilingual (Urdu & English) Magazine so that it can attract wider audience and we are able to communicate with public at large.
