Library Committee

To ensure the efficiency a Library Committee is nominated by the Chairman Senate consisting of four members including its Chairman to deal with the affairs of the Senate Library under the rule 151 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 1988. Its present composition is as under:

•  Senator Syeda Sughra Imam Chairperson

•  Senator Afrasiab Khattak Member

•  Senator Kalsoom Perveen Member

•  Senator Muddassir Sehar Kamran Member

Under the Rule 152 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 1988, the functions of the Committee are as under;

•  To develop the Library, its reading room and Reference Service with a view to helping members of Parliament in the discharge of their duties.

•  To invite suggestions and advise on the selection of books, periodicals and newspapers.

•  To advise on reciprocal arrangements for exchange of debates and other publications of the Senate, with friendly countries.

•  To consider suggestions for improvement of the Library and help in its future expansion.

•  To assist and encourage the members of Parliament in fully utilizing the services provided by the Library.

•  To consider matters incidental and ancillary to the above functions.
