Born on January 1, 1922 at Qila Manki in Zhob District, Nawabzada Jehangir Shah has a long active career in civil services and politics. After having formal education and training in the discipline of jurisprudence,Nawabzada Sahib joined government service in 1939 which he continued till 1982. He held various Executive, Judicial and Secretariat posts like Political Agent Loralai, Deputy Commisioner Kharan, Commisioner Quetta, Member Board of Revenue,Member Service Tribunal, Member Federal Public Service Commision etc. and remained alive to the problems of the people of Balochistan.
A committed lieutenant of his father , Nawabzada Muhammad Khan Jogezai, he took active part in the pre-partition politics of Balochistan and his contribution in mobilizing and motivating public opinion in favour Pakistan remains unquestioned .
He was elected to Senate against the Balochistan seat which fell vacant due to the death of Senator Muhammad Ahmed Mirza. He is Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Interior and Labour and Manpower .
