Abdul Nabi Bangash is a Senator of Awami National Party from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Senator Bangash has remained Chairman of Bangash Group of Companies for 20 Years. He is President of Awami National Party (ANP), UAE, since 1994; Member of Advisory Committee (ANP), since 2008; and Member of Central Committee (ANP), since 2004. In addition, he is Chairman of Pakhtun Welfare Organization, UAE, since 2005; President of United Forum Dubai (Pakistan Business Community) since 2004; President of Car Dealers Association (DUCAMZ) Dubai, since 1994. He has also remained Vice President of Pakistan Association Dubai, 1994 – 1998, and Director of Pakistan Business Council, Dubai.

Major achievements as Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Housing & Works (July 2009 - Mar 2012)

Vacation of 135 kanals of land encroached by the villagers in Moza Dhanna Singwala and other unauthorized occupations at Wafaqi Colony, Lahore.

Resolved the matter of unauthorized occupation of 12 apartments at Wafaqi Colony, Lahore, by Punjab Police and recovered a cheque amounting to Rs.1.600 million from the latter in this regard.

Vacation of Chamba House, Lahore, that was illegally occupied by NAB for the last 11 years under the directions of Military Dictator. Also recovered an amount of Rs. 90.60 million in terms of rent of Chamba House, as well as Rs.100.18 million for renovation of Chamba House. This was a great and historic achievement of the Committee and proved the supremacy of the Parliament.

The Committee got vacated 122 houses / flats out of 185 illegally occupied by Islamabad Police. The Committee also got vacated the Govt. houses / flats from non-entitled departments and Madrassas.

The Committee also took a serious notice on the illegal occupation of newly-constructed Aabpara flats, Islamabad by ICT Police personnel and instructed the Ministry of Housing & Works to resolve the matter with the CDA so that the building may be handed over to the Ministry for onward allotment to the eligible Govt. employees.

The Committee took up another most important matter regarding 249 Govt-owned residential accommodation of the Estate Office, Ministry of Housing & Works, at Sariab Road, Quetta, which was illegally occupied by Balochistan Constabulary in the year 2004. Resolved the issue of non-construction of 90 flats entrusted to PWD in Peshawar.

Checked the progress of the Development Schemes of the Parliamentarians, PSDP Schemes, and schemes under P.M. Directive, being executed by the PWD in all the provinces. For this purpose the Committee visited the provincial headquarters and monitored the quality / progress of work.

Reviewed the progress of the projects of PHA, FGEHF and NCL and issued directions to the concerned querters that while entering any project, the prior approval of the Committee would be mandatory. In this regard, the Committee re-examined the projects of PHA like the PHA agreement with M/s. Roofi Builders and M/s. Maymar at Karachi, and the projects of M/s. Nobel Waters, Islamabad. In view of the dubious antecedents and defaulting history of M/s. Rufi Builders, The Committee strongly recommended not signing an agreement with them. The Ministry honoured the recommendations of the Committee and the agreement was not signed with M/s. Rufi Builders. The Committee also analyzed the projects of FGEHF in Bharakahu, Islamabad, and reviewed the scheme of “membership drive” launched by FGEHF; also monitored the scheme of PHA at Kuri Road, Islamabad.

The Committee also reviewed the project of PHA at Kuchlak Road, Quetta, paid a visit to the proposed site and issued the necessary directions to the PHA regarding the said projects.
