Islamabad, October 12, 2021: An Iranian delegation led by Member of Parliament and President of Iran Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ahmad Amir Abadi Farahani paid a courtesy call on Vice President PPP and Chair Foreign Affairs Senate Standing Committee, Senator Sherry Rehman. Other members of the delegation included Mohsen Pirhadi, Esmaeil Hossein Zehi, Elham Azad and Malek Fazeli.
They discussed Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations and stressed upon the need for parliamentary interaction to strengthen the ties between the two countries. Senator Sherry Rehman emphasised on Pakistan’s deep cultural, trade, economic and diplomatic ties with bordering Iran and discussed ongoing issues on the Pak-Iran Gas pipeline which was initiated during PPP government. Both sides underlined the need of building a robust bilateral relationship across the board and for collaborating on issues of common interest. The meeting recognised the importance of connectivity in the region, along with the need for stability and peace and concluded with discussions on further enhancement of parliamentary relations between both countries.
