Senate’s business is divided under three heads – Senate, official and private. Except on Sundays reserved for private business, official and Senate business is transacted on all other days. Official business includes government bills, resolutions, motions and amendments presented by Ministers. The Procedure for government business is set down by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs while Senate and private business sis set down by the Senate Secretariat with the consent of the Chairman.
