The Senate of Pakistan has its own Secretariat to regulate the work entrusted to the Upper House and maintains its own administrative set up, like recruitment and conditions of service of the persons appointed in the Secretariat (Art. 87). The Secretary of the Senate is the overall administrative head of the Secretariat.
